ex's are a pain, baby birds and other random stuff...

ex's are a pain and i know i am an ex as well...that's all i have to say about that...

jimmie found a fledgling bird who had fallen from its nest saturday night, so we kept it over night in a box and i awoke to its cries at 5am! i put out in a bush near its nest before we left for church. we couldn't get it back into its nest because it was on the roof. when jimmie got home, it was gone...i will hope it did not get eaten by some large animal...

so, i taught the toddler room sunday school class sunday... it is so entertaining watching the little cuties! they are like little sponges soaking up everything you do and say. we sang a song to the tune of london bridge and said God is watching over us instead. i didn't think they were listening at all and then about 20 minutes later, i heard one of the 3 year olds singing it. it always amazes me how smart kids are. i have to admit that i sometimes make a fool of myself just to watch the kids follow me, i.e., dancing around the class room so that the kids would dance too, much to the embarrassment of my step-daughter and phoebe who were helping me! ahhh...good stuff...

i went to visit my daddy at the hospital after church. he is doing great. he doesn't even seem like he had surgery. but, anyone who knows my dad, would not expect anything less! i had a girls day out with diane and phoebe and we hit target, borders and michaels and saw "the happening". kinda cool...the plants are mad at us! go see the movie and you will see what i mean...i felt guilty the entire time for not spending the day with jimmie, taylor and elijah, i know y'all can feel me on that one!

i now have enough stuff to get about 8 necklaces or bracelets done for etsy, so keep your fingers crossed that elijah will allow me to get some stuff done this week.

jimmie also found a new friend in the pond. don't know how he managed not to get eaten by the fish as a pollywog, but here he is!

daddy's knee surgery and little turds...

today i got my first comment from someone i do not know, yeah! i thought it was pretty sweet, as kalie would say...

my daddy has knee surgery yesterday...i dragged along kalie, brittany, taylor, phoebe, and elijah to the all day event. we hung out in the hospital waiting room for 7 hours.......not one fight or tantrum the entire time....GOD IS GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!

after spending $40 on lunch for the crew at sonic, we made the trek up to tahoe to dropp kalie and britt off at their dad's........ah the summer visitation schedule, gotta love it...

on the way home, i was cut-off by a car load of little punks as i headed up the mountain pass. i ended up calling 911 half way down the other side, because the little turds were passing over the double yellow and driving into the oncoming lane around curves, generally making donkey butts out of themselves and putting everybody in danger. they kept waving their hands out the windows and acting like lunatics. the 911 operator asked me to follow them to see where they went so the officers could find them and eventually i had to go meet up with the officers as they were questioning the little brats. one of the cars involved saw the first car getting pulled over and got away. he saw me on the phone and tried to get me to pull over......yeah right! anyway, i guess i did my civic duty and went home to be paranoid all night that the little boogers had followed me home and would definitely be breaking-in to my home to "get me". not to worry, berta is still alive...

i am off now to feed the saturday night church goers and visit my daddy. i have not downloaded my pics yet, so next post i will have some more. ooh, i have a really cool one of our resident frog...he is huge!

dazed and confused..........

hello to my two readers, anthony (my big cousin) and mom!

today i am having one of those "head-in-the-clouds" kind of days. it feels like it's going to be a full moon, only, i know that has already past, so what the heck is up with my head today?

i want to be creative and i have a million ideas in my head, but i can't seem to get started. maybe it's all the smoke in the air. there is a fire near by, but i'm not sure where. i can't even see the huge mountains out my back windows anymore.

this week has been challenging and its not even wednesday yet! taylor is having a rough few days and has been pouting for about 3 days now......you know i can't stand pouting......argh!!!!!!!!! this, along with me not being able to shake this funk, is driving me insane. oh the challenges of an evil step-mother...

hmmm, i gave kalie a new haircut on sunday, the girls made ribbon belts with sequins this morning...what else, they are now on a hunt for rocks to make more "rock creatures". oh, i finished a sample baby beanie for the baby boutique in town- cross your fingers that the owner will place an order...oh yeah, and the biggest news of all, diesel went down .10 in one day..whoopie, now we can all jump in the truck and take a road trip....i wish.

i had hoped to have some items up for sale on etsy by the end of last week, but i didn't get it done. maybe by next week, i hope.......

well, as you can see, i am in an awful, crappy mood today so send me some love and i hope to get some more pix and video up soon...really!

happy father's day!!!!!!!

hello everyone, and happy father's day! we are back from our wonderful trip to  pismo. it was beautiful the entir time we were there. we relaxed on the beach and i, yes me, wore a bathing suite........applause, applause........

we had two friends with us, bob and wes, our young, red-neck buddies. they were an absolute blessing....wes is "hawkeye", he knew were all the kids were at all times, and bob is such a great "uncle" to play with. they kept all of us laughing the whole time. the girls had a blast boogie boarding, i could hardly get brittany and taylor out of the water...

we saw hearst castle and went to avila beach. we took a long bike ride to avila beach from pismo which was a little over 8 miles one way, but jimmie and the boys had to ride back and get the truck to pick us up because it was a pretty grueling ride back, up hills and such.......

so, of course, i didn't get the postcards out, bad mommy.......and i never got to do my journal while we were there either.....i was so busy cooking, doing dishes and packing for the beach, that by the time i had a moment, i just passed out!

i will have some items up for sale on my etsy shop this week, God willing! please take a look and pass my website along to your friends and family. i will let you all know when i get the items posted. there is already a link on this blog to the etsy shop, but there is nothing there yet.......

i took on yet another commitment, but i am so excited. i have commited to serve approx. 200 people on saturday night services at church, along with being a high school youth leader and helping start up the food line ministry........i will be busy, busy.......but i am really excited. oh yeah, and i might be filling in for elijah's toddler room teacher at church as well. whoo, better eat my wheaties!

here is a pic of my father's day card to my daddy, it is partially digital (background, pictures) and  partially traditional (red tag, journaling on some photos, ribbon, staples and cardboard backing, rub-ons). i may try to add a layout or project in to my blogs, because i really have nothing else to do and i need more things to add to my life!

i am already tired........

today was the last day of school for kalie and britt. i went in to see my two favorite teachers mrs.trujillo and mrs. dedmon. mrs. dedmon is moving to turkey and her hubby will be teaching there, i think she said for two years........sooo cool. mrs. trujillo just had a book published by the chicken soup people, teens talking faith, pretty cool. it has been a fun year being a part of their classrooms and such a blessing having them teach my kids. oooh, great idea for the june jug mina....see who gets it next...thank you guys for the sweet gifts!

i forgot to mention yesterday that my idea for a "food -line" ministry was liked by the church and they want to back the youth ministry in making it a reality! i am so excited! we may start at a couple of parks in carson city and see how it goes. it would be such a great way to serve the hungry in this area.

so we leave tomorrow for pismo beach for about a week and i am already exhausted! i have been packing the rv for 2 days now......it is easier to stay home, i know, that is such a sissy thing to say! i have packed my crochet stuff; i have to get some samples to my local baby boutique when i get back; i have also packed a few supplies to make a journal of our adventures.

my creative packing list: small 4x6 photo album from target, watercolors and brushes, pen, scissors, cardstock, patterned paper, adhesive dots, assorted rub-ons and stickers.

we will see what i come up with when i get back.

i purchased tickets today for our second tour of hearst castle. the kids really loved it there and asked to go back, so here we go. i hope to get some good pics of the architecture. other than that, we are going to just hang out and explore the area. jimmie will be surfing, pray he does not get eaten by sharks.....my biggest fear...and he is taking kalie along as well....YIKES!!!

i am so looking forward to the 9 hour ride down to pismo......really, i am, the screaming baby, the fighting teens shouting smart a!@ remarks to each other, the "oh my gosh mom, are we there yet?!", oh yeah, and my favorite of all, jimmie pulling into the gas station with the 27 foot beast in tow and trying to get out again, now thats a fun time!

ta,ta, for now folks...wish me luck and sanity while i am gone. i really am looking forward to this, by the way! i guess i am just a glutton for punishment!

p.s. i am going to revert back to the old fashioned idea of correspondence and try to send postcards, but don't hold your breath!

spiderman, swimsuits and shopping!

ok, so today, we went swimsuit shopping after the girls got out of school. spiderman, aka elijah, came with us...not such a good idea! he was climbing under the dressing room walls and being a general terror......oh well...

my mom came too and spoiled the girls with swimsuits that were entirely too expensive...but it makes her (and them) happy...thank you grama...the girls should not be allowed to wear swimsuits at all.......they look like....um, well....i dunno, super models, but they don't look like my babies anymore...i, on the other hand, should not be allowed to wear a bathing suit for other reasons i do not care to mention. i did find a very cute little polka dot number with a little skirt... kinda old-lady style, no offense to all my "old" peeps........

finally a banner........and random thoughts from the crazy mom

well, after almost 2 weeks of playing with my page, i finally looked at the help page, what a concept........and now i finally have a banner! yeah!

i am busy getting ready for pismo beach....i cannot wait! the girls have 3 days left of school, so we have been busy studying for tests and such.

jimmie took elijah to the park to play "real" baseball on sunday. he got to hit the ball from home plate for the first time!

the best invention ever is the kids cliff bars, they are organic and elijah calls them his candy bars. i love that i am still able to trick him into thinking he is eating candy.

pirates booty is the best snack food ever! well besides dark chocolate moose munch, aka, food of the gods...........

kalie and brittany have signed up for their dance classes for next fall already.........kalie will be taking 9 and demonstrating in 2 and brittany will be taking 4.......holy cow! what am i thinking?! oh well, they enjoy it and they stay busy.

i am eager to get back to creating "stuff" after this past few weeks of chaos. i am planning on bringing some simple materials with me in our "house on wheels" and keeping an art journal while we are away. I can't wait to see what i come up with having the ocean as my inspiration.
