nothin' new...

well, nothin really new here. but i am working a some new jewelry pieces. went to my local antique store and picked up some super tacky, retro, beaded necklaces to re-use as very spiffy chokers. they will be in the shop later this week,  i hope..

i have also been busy designing some kool new altered books made from more thrift store finds. i am in a very creative mode right now...

no pics today as i accidentally took most of them in RAW mode and now have to process them all before posting, ARGH!!! tomorrow, i will try to have pics of my latest projects, etc.

anyone ever been to scotland? if so, send me some trip planning advice...hoping to plan something for next spring...Lord willing (please Lord, be willing!) we will be able to take the girls and elijah so we can all experience their paternal ancestory! BUT, we may have a chance to go on a mission trip to africa and mexicali with the youth ministry in april, sooooooo, ya, i've got some planning/decisions to make...

hmmm, other than that, i got nothin'. random tidbit: i LOVE the show ELI STONE..and PUSHING DAISIES...anyone else agree????

i am rambling now, guess i am in a daze, my poor little eyeballs are strained from working with beads all day...

i think i will do a couple of layouts for some challenge blogs i have been wanting to play along with. if you're interested, try scrapping across the universe and one little word . i am outy!

happy friday!

not much going on this week. i have been busy making more things for my ETSY SHOP, and with my girls and elijah. no pretty pix for ya today, but i will try to get some posted this weekend. i am hoping that the beautiful fall leaves are not gone yet, so i can get some pix. we have a lovely place called hope valley, only about 15 minutes from our home and it is amazing this time of year.

i am also in the middle of designing invitations for my sister-in-laws wedding! i love family weddings! they should be very unique. we are combining my paper skills with her drawing skills and hopefully we will end up with a very nice invitation. i can't wait! 

that's all for now folks, gotta get back to creating and i probably should make dinner :0

i feel so ashamed....

about an hour ago, i fed a homeless man dinner. i am not posting this for a pat on the back or brownie points or anything...i am just feeling ashamed that i have soooo much, yet i have the nerve to complain about what i don't have. this man was so thankful to me for buying him a crappy meal at taco bell, while i sit here and long for a new macbook.i would drop 50 bucks on scrapbooking stuff, if i could and this man doesn't even have a roof to sleep under. how selfish and wrong is that? i need to be more thankful for what i have - bottom line. i am feeling disgusted about myself at the moment, so short post for tonight, but i will be back tomorrow...good night and God bless y'all!

new layout

i actually got some scrapbooking in today, between the laundry, elijah, re-arranging elijah's room, driving the girls to dance, cooking, cleaning, making chocolate milk, etc, etc, etc.... but who's complaining?!?!? LOL.

so here it is, a little something for my friend, penny.

etsy update is finished!!!!!!!

finally! i have finished updating my etsy shop with some cute little journals. hopefully, more items will be added this week.

 

other than finishing up with my etsy update and going to church, we didn't do much of anything this weekend. it was kind of nice. i got some great shots of my last die-hard flowers getting their first dusting of snow...

   

and some not-so-lucky little buds that never got their chance to bloom...

 

we lounged around the house, feeling blessed for having such a cozy home to snuggle up in, and drank mexican hot chocolate with marshmallows...yummy...

 

i am anxious to get back to my "projects", so for now, have a great evening and i will leave you with a cute picture and quote from my little man...

 

"oh mommy, my bubble fwens are on my peanut!" this was exclaimed while elijah was taking his bath, after having a short, but apparently memorable, anatomy lesson with mommy.

a little o' this and a little o' that...

well, for starters, i have finished a batch of journals-finally- and i will be posting them in my etsy shop later today. i will also be adding some new little embellishments later this week.

 

now for an extra special, very picture heavy, sometimes random, but possibly entertaining, post about my very busy weekend...

friday started off, or ended, with a bang for kalie...it was her very first homecoming dance! we went after school to find a dress...nothin' like procrastinating...then got home just in time to get ready, take a few pics with the local rednecks (aka, big daddy jim, uncle b max and drummer teacher extraordinaire, lil' curt), and get to the game. the dance started midway through the 4th quarter...poor planning in my opinion, but, whatever...

   

i made sure to pay-off a few of her friends to spy on her, or more importantly, on the creepy, little, hormone driven male population of the school! oh yeah, and it didn't hurt that kalie arrived at the game with all of us and politely introduced the little creeps to the "body guards". LOL...

next on the agenda...SYTYCD!!!! yes, we are proud fans of the sometimes corny dance show, but hey, at least they arent' watching "the hills", right?! we went to reno to see the show on saturday night, with our friends diane and phoebe... grama rosie got to come out too! i have to say that while it was a very good show, it felt a bit like watching the finale over again. we thought they would be doing new choreography, but it was mostly dances straight from the show...still very entertaining, but would've liked to see some new stuff...my absolute favorite were bollywood dances...

 

and the famous "door" dance was pretty cool too... 

i, being the criminal that i am, got into a bit of trouble with security during the show...i was escorted out of the auditorium by 2 security guards for having my camera in the building..you would think these rent-a-cops would have known that cameras were allowed during the show! after they very proudly presented me to their supervisor, he promptly informed them that i was doing nothing wrong and that cameras were allowed during the show...ha! the female guard looked at me with utter annoyance, then said, "okay, go...". can you beleive it! not even so much as a, "i'm sorry for humiliating you in front of hundreds of people"! i was pretty mad, but i am over it now, i think...

now, on to sunday...i had to take the girls up to tahoe to their dads, so jimmie and i decided to take elijah to the annual "kokanee salmon festival" at the lake. elijah did a fish print, and we saw lots of spawning salmon and even a bear cub! the poor cub was trying to get some lunch, but instead was greeted by a bunch of dumb tourists screaming and yelling to get back and saying things like, "he's gonna charge!" okay, granted he is a wild animal, i know, but please...a baby bear charging at a crowd of about 50-60 people, across a river...i don't think so!

      oh look, a rare sighting of...me.lol

  the dark massin the water is hundreds of spawning salmon, it gets really gross and stinky towards the end of the spawning season when all of the fish die and their rotting carcasses flood the water...yummy...

and last but not least, i did find some time this weekend to bake some yummy peanut butter chocolate chip cookies...

 

and elijah found time to sneek onto the counter and steal a few oreos from the cookie jar
