it's a new year and i am already busy making resolutions that i will NEVER keep! every year, i make the same resolutions; lose weight, keep a daily journal, make more time to "play", go on a honeymoon, etc, etc, etc... and every year, i either give up a week into it, or never even begin...hey, at least i can be honest with myself and the fact that i am a COMPLETE flake!
so, first things first...i am having a month long sale at my etsy shop! buy one, get one free! visit my shop for more details..
the month of december was extremely busy around here. we hosted a girls retreat at our home for the young ladies in our youth group...
i think we had about 20 young ladies and leaders in the house! my wonderful hubby was banished from the house for the day along with elijah, poor guys! my poor daddy had just had knee surgery and was stuck in his room the entire time as well...it was worth their sacrifices though... we made collages, journals, ate lots of food and learned alot!
dena and the kids...
time out for some pool...
amy singing the girls to sleep...
on december 17th, kalie got her learners permit to drive!!!! look out everyone...
the holidays were very busy for us, here in the montgomery household. baking cookies, making fudge, etc...i have no idea where the time went. we did get to have our annual "family" christmas with abby and the kids, our other family.
the "kids" table...
andrea and nicolai...how sweet!

on christmas eve day, the girls made delveries to the neighbors early in the afternoon and after the christmas eve service at church, we spent a nice quiet evening at home with our family and a couple of friends from youth group. we wooped the boys butts at taboo and then had our annual viewing of christmas vacation. classic...we were up with the kids until 2am!!!
hate this picture of us, but had to include it for the very modelesque (is that even a word?) pose that britt is striking...
for the new year, we spent the afternoon at church. the youth group hosted a fundraiser for our church in kenya, to raise money for a well and for continued building on the church.
my mom, diane, phoebe and i, cooked over 64 pounds of ground beef and made a traditional kenyan curry dish; somewhat like spaghetti sauce, but with curry, cinnamon and ginger. it took us about 10 hours to cook the entire meal! our youth band did a concert for the event as well.
horrible picture, funny story...this is mica...he is crazy hyper...he scares diane...this is mica, scaring diane...you had to be there!
crazy kids...
building structures out of recycled paper...tallest structure wins...
kenyan dance troupe with amy and jess...
CVC high school band...they are awesome!
after the event at church, about 20 or more kids came home with us to bring in the new year.
max, nathan, chani, kalie and brandon...
rock band anyone?
happy new year!!!!!
lars got a new hair-do...black-mail picture for sure!
elijah has learned to ride his big boy bike, now, with training wheels of course.
he is getting harder and harder to keep tabs of! i think i need to invest in some padlocks for the doors in the house, to keep him from escaping...
so that's it for us in the last month...hope i didn't bore you to tears. for those of you who care, i will be going back to posting creative, artsy things next week. it's so much more interesting than the boring details of my life!
have a great weekend!
