new year, new beginnings, new things to look forward to!

first of all...i have to share my excitement for this...

i can't wait!!!!!!!!

so, here's a peek at my desk at the moment... so many ideas, so little time in the day....

my days have been spent thinking of new ideas and designs. i have traded in my usual composition journal/ sketch books for a very large, artist pad in order to fit all of my ideas. last night, i kid you not, i was up at 1am, in bed, sketching away...my problem seems to be actually getting the ideas off of paper and made into tangible items. hmmm, looks like another resolution... speaking of resolutions and things to look forward to; big daddy and i have decided to have a date night at least once a month this year. i don't know if we will be able to, but we will try.

more to look forward to...

tomorrow, i vow, yes, vow, to put away the christmas decorations and finally send out those christmas cards. oh come on, like there isn't anyone out there who is in the same boat! oh yes, and let's not forget those sparkly valentine decorations just waiting to come out of hibernation to dazzle my windows and sprinkle their glittery goodness all over my floors...yippee! big daddy is so happy he will be home to join in the festivities. i will be sure to post photos of that!

another thing to look forward to in the new year... a new schedule. with all of the chaos my etsy shop has created in our household, i have decided to set a schedule, ideally 9am-3pm with a break from 12-1, to make it easier on little buddy during the day. with my etsy shop getting busier, my poor little guy is feeling a bit "jealous" of mama's paper, scissors and computer. i am looking forward to simplifying and getting back to the very reasons i stay home to begin with, which is to be a mama first.

i am hoping to turn my blog in a new direction this year as well. when i first started, i thought it would be a great way to keep family and friends updated on our family and to share ideas and projects i am working on through the year. i have tried various ideas throughout my first year or so and decided i would like to post more projects ideas, recipe's and how-to's this year. so many of you ask me how to make this or that and i would love to turn those questions into posts. so, please, if you have any suggestions or questions that you would like me to address in a post, let me know. i will need all the ideas i can get! as the blog grows, i will bring back giveaways and have some fun with contests, etc.

i am so excited to see what this year has in store! i can't wait to see what lies beyond the next turn... 1am again...see, not enough time in the day!

i am sooooo stoked to see alice in wonderland! i so wish we could go together! hmmmmmmm....;)
and i am soooo happy for you and your etsy. i do hope you can find a good balance for you, your shop and the fam. it takes work, i tell ya! and as i'm sure you've noticed, sometimes you hafta shut the whole thing down just to rejuvenate and remind your family and yourself that they do come first. i remember when i first started getting orders i'd be so excited that i'd drop EVERYTHING and do whatever someone else wanted and my family felt like they were on the back burner. NOT GOOD. not saying it's that way for you, but that's why i have to totally shut it down for awhile is cuz i just get soooo wrapped up in it that i just need time away. i'm getting ready to open it back up here soon, and am hoping that it will go smoothly. with that, my family AND my away-from-the-house job, i reeeeeeally hope i can find a good balance that works for everyone.
ok, so now that written a BOOK, (i shoulda just wrote you an email!) i'll wrap this baby up. ;)
